Important: Repeated, or severe misbehaviour will not be tolerated. These extremely rare events can result in eviction form the site and the forfeit of any camping or other fees paid. Adults are responsible for all under 18’s in their unit.
Being involved in offensive behaviour, consumption of animal products, or the use of illegal drugs etc on site are not welcome at any VCUK events.
Communications. All communications should be addressed through VCUK. To get the best rates we try and take the load off the camp site staff. Any questions, please first check our websites FAQ, then ask on our Facebook page, finally email or phone us before the event, or speak to a committee member during the event.
Site Care: Children, (and adults), are expected to tidy up, to respect and to replace any equipment/toys they borrow, use, or damage.
Safety: Adults must be responsible for the health and safety of the children and animals in their unit, including fire regulations, safe use of cooking equipment etc, positioning of tents/guy ropes and the appropriate distance between tents etc (please allow min. 2 metres space between tents and cars) or as specified by the camp site.
If you are going off-site you must nominate a responsible adult for your children/animals, VCUK does not accept any responsibility for them!
If you do see something potentially dangerous, please let a committee member know asap or deal with it yourself if safe and appropriate to do so, or call appropriate emergency services if needed.
Dogs: All dogs must be under control at all times and owners must abide by the site and VCUK rules. Dogs must always be kept on leads, except if allowed in designated exercise areas. When dogs are secured at your pitch it must be on a maximum of a 3m lead so as they cannot interfere with neighbouring pitches. This is to prevent issues such as pooping (don’t forget compostable poo bags please) next to someone else’s pitch or stealing their stash of dark chocolate covered sultanas and macadamia nuts!
Whilst dogs may feel like family members to us, we know of other people who have been traumatised by dog attacks in their past. One camp organiser was bitten on the face by a seemingly friendly dog who walked up to them, wagging their tail and then proceeded for no known reason, to bite that person on the lip! (10 years later that injury still plays up sometimes).
Insurance: All members are responsible for their own personal and holiday insurance.
Vibe: Vegan Camp is a relaxed event, but at night we ask people to respect the 10pm noise cut-off. There may be announced and agreed exceptions to this, shown on programmed events, if in doubt just ask Heather or one of the committee members.
Day visitors: These are welcome and may participate in the group’s activities; we ask £2 adult/day to help cover the costs of organising VCUK. They must also sign and agree to these conditions.
VCUK: This is organised by unpaid volunteers and whilst we do our best, we cannot anticipate every eventuality. Therefore by signing this you agree that the organisers are not liable for any damage, injury, loss or anything else etc that may occur either at camp, or related to the camp.
Vegan Camp is a Not For Profit group managed by unpaid volunteers.
