Onsite camp notes (paper copies available onsite)
Hello and welcome to Vegan Camp UK 2025
Whether you’ve been coming for years or this is your first time, please read the following info regarding this years camp.
You may pitch anywhere on the field (although we generally leave the centre free for games), and your car can be next to your tent. We ask you not to drive around more than necessary- especially if the ground is wet.
We do not have an organised programme of events, but we have a very comprehensive list of suggestions : places to visit, activities of all sorts and where to eat. ( All collated by committee member Sue). Camp is what you want it to be and what you make it! Please liaise with each other and offer lifts if appropriate. If you have a skill or interest to share, please see Heather or Sue and we can help you arrange a short talk/workshop.
Please leave the communal areas as you would like to find them, if something is wrong/broken please tell a committee member- Heather, Verona, Tony, Russell, Sue & Paul
If you need to know anything else- please ask. One of us might know the answer!
Dogs: If you have brought your companion animals please keep them on a lead at all times and pick up after them. Any dog related questions please speak to Verona and Eustace! (Also please see reverse side T&Cs)
Chyan has a cafe, open for Snacks and hot drinks daily / evening meals by request – book before 2pm.
Cool blocks can be frozen for 50p a go.
Vegan Camp UK has a no noise policy after 10pm, which applies to any camp we host. Chyan has a no LOUD noise policy after 9pm. We really do need campers to respect this and adhere to it please. The camp fire needs to be extinguished by 9.30pm
We will be having a picnic lunch on approx. 1pm Saturday 9th bring and share food.
Bring and share ‘pot luck’ meals : Sunday 3rd, Sat 9th and Sat 16th all 6:30pm for 7pm start (ish)
As a not for profit organisation, we are registered with Natural England for a camping license and part of that is to have an AGM once a year- so we will be holding it after the meal on Sat 9th. You are all members, and welcome to attend. Vegan Camp UK is for everyone and you have a say!
The terms and Conditions for VCUK agreed to on booking to stay.
Possession/use of illegal drugs, being involved in offensive behaviour or consumption of animal products on site are not welcome at any Vegan Camp. Such extremely rare events can result in eviction form the site (adults responsible for all under 18’s in their unit) and the forfeit of any remaining camp fees paid. Repeated or severe misbehaviour will not be tolerated.
Children, (and adults), are expected to tidy up, to respect and to replace any equipment/toys they borrow, use, or damage.
All members are responsible for their own personal and holiday insurance, health and safety & that of children/dogs in their unit, including fire regulations, safe use of cooking equipment etc.
If you do see something potentially dangerous, please let a committee member know asap or deal with it yourself if appropriate. Please allow a 2m space between your car and tent.
All dogs must be under control at all times and owners must abide by the site rules. Dogs must always be kept on leads, with a 3m lead by your tent/van, to prevent issues such as pooping next to someone else’s pitch. While dogs may feel like family members to some, others may not feel the same way.
Vegan Camp is a relaxed event, but at night we ask people to respect the 10pm noise cut-off. ( 9pm loud noise here at Chyan)
Day visitors are welcome and may participate in the group’s activities; there is a £2 visitors fee. They must also sign and agree to this Code of Conduct.
Vegan Camp UK is organised by unpaid volunteers and whilst we do our best, we cannot anticipate every eventuality. Therefore by signing this you agree that the organisers are not liable for any damage, injury, loss etc that may occur either at camp, or related to the camp.
Committee/long time members:
Heather, Verona, Tony, Russell, Sue, Paul & Gordon.
Summer 2025
End of Onsite camp notes

Vegan Camp is a friendly and enjoyable annual social gathering for singles, couples and families. Each year we choose a new location with people coming to stay for day visits all the way up to the full two weeks.
For the past 42 summers, a group of vegans (and those willing to be vegan for at least the duration of the camp) have met at numerous venues throughout the country.
We usually have between 80 to 120 people camping, many of us have been coming for 20 years and more, whilst others are more recent members.
We are a diverse group whose ages range from babies up to those in their 80’s, with singles, couples and families attending. Some people come every year. Some come when we are in their area.
What is consistent is the friendly, helpful and fun atmosphere at our camps. . We have many children attending each year and it is an ideal time for them to meet other vegan children. Children and adults too form many friendships at the camp.
Looking forward to meeting you at the campsite …
